Job Description:
Develop workforce force automation and operational workflow/support system to meet the needs of the operational units of the Power Distribution Companies (DISCO).
Assist in the development of interfaces with auxiliary input devices, the new CIS, and the legacy COBOL billing system and, new billing system (which is being developed in the Oracle tools).
Participate in the testing of software during all stages of development and installation.
Training DISCO personnel responsible for data entry and retrieval, and the cyclical operations of the system.
Provide user support throughout the implementation period and initial operations of the system.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
University degree in Computer Science
Minimum of 6 years software development IT experience
Minimum of 3 years? experience with Oracle JDeveloper required
Oracle DB experience required
Billing software and CIS experience a plus
Proficient in English, writing and speaking; with excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Commercial Operations / Billing Cycle / AMR Specialist Job In PITCO Lahore
Job Description:
We are currently seeking the services of a Commercial Operations / Billing Cycle / AMR Specialist to assist our team in reviewing and re-designing commercial and billing operations of eight (8) Distribution Utilities across the country.
The specific responsibilities associated with this position shall include:
Implement a new state of the art Customer Information & Billing System (CIS) at an electric utility in Pakistan; this will be implemented at a small business unit (20-30,000 customers) in the utility, and then rolled out across the organisation
Review of accounting practices and current level of integration with CIS, to aggregate data by consumption categories
Lead and implement an AMR / smart metering initiative spanning the use of different technologies (GSM/GPRS, Radio Frequency, Handhelds, etc.)
Introducing principles of energy accounting, and implementing these as part of the AMR projects
Setup a modern customer service center at the business unit
Oversee implementation of improved commercial practices and procedures to all participating utilities
Use results and data from consumer census surveys, undertaken by PDP team members in selected business units, to support CIS implementation process
Prepare and present briefing materials to Chief of Party, USAID, Distribution Utilities, and relevant stakeholders in public sector.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
10 years of progressive work experience in commercial operations of utilities
Strong understanding of Advanced Metering and AMR applications in utilities
